🎃 Pumpkin Day Camp at Wild Acres
🎃 Pumpkin Day Camp at Wild Acres
Friday, October 30 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
$45 per child
Drop-off or stay from 9am-3pm.
Ages 6-15 (5 if they can use the restroom independently)
Spend the day at Wild Acres learning, creating, exploring and playing—all centered around one of fall's favorites: pumpkins!
Campers will learn how a tiny pumpkin seed grows into a sprawling vine and eventually becomes the pumpkins we harvest in the fall. We'll explore the pumpkin life cycle, learn real pumpkin gardening basics, and discover when and how pumpkins are planted, how much room they need to grow, and how to know when they're ready to harvest.
Then we'll get our hands messy! We'll dissect real pumpkins to investigate the skin, flesh, pulp, fibers and seeds and learn what the different parts do. We'll clean the seeds, season and roast them for campers to take home.
Every camper will also paint their own pumpkin to take home.
And because it's Wild Acres, there will be plenty of time between activities for outdoor play, visiting and interacting with the goats, lunch, snacks and just being a kid on the farm.
Each camper takes home:
🎃 Their own painted pumpkin

🧠And hopefully some new gardening knowledge!
Campers bring: sack lunch, snacks + water bottle
Closed-toe shoes are suggested.
Taught by experienced and certified teachers and counselors.
